The National Marathon: Race Day Poetry

Eek!! In all the hustle and bustle getting ready for the race Saturday, I forgot to post my race-day poems. I've been writing (mostly naughty) limericks to entertain myself and my friends lately, so I decided to jot something down before Saturday's marathon.  They aren't tremendously clever, but I think I may start posting something similar before each race.

Race-Day Haiku:

Running through D.C.
My second full marathon.
Hope I can finish.

Race-Day Limerick:

A race I will run in D.C.
Twenty-six-point-two miles of glee(?)
As I frantically run,
I do hope I'll have fun,
And I hope I don't injure my knee.

Race Report to follow soon!

  1. Hope it was gleeful! I met a friend of yours in the Armory at the start. Will look forward to hearing your race report :)

  2. Love the poetry! I wrote a terrible limerick the other day which will be featured on my blog very soon.
    Luck all of you...
