Upcoming Races

October 17, 2015: The Baltimore Marathon (The third leg of my King Crab Challenge)

I haven't run in the Baltimore Running Festival since 2012.  Before that I'd run every year (or just about?) since 2009, so I fully expect that an orchestra of tuxedoed gents will strike up, and Louis Armstrong will posthumously burst into a rendition of "Hello, Dolly!" just for me.

Also, the King Crab Challenge? Not only brilliant marketing of the Old Line State, but one of the coolest feats of endurance I've encountered.

November 7, 2015: The Disney Wine-&-Dine Half Marathon, Orlando, FL

This event sold out in THIRTY minutes!!....or something similarly ridiculous.  The mouse is making some serious coin off of these races. Elizabeth and I had finally committed to actually sign up together, only to find out it was sold out before we event knew it was open for registration.  Fortunately, Elizabeth is a brilliant and thorough friend and researcher and she found a travel agent that could secure race registrations and hotels for us, for what amounts to be less expensive than doing it ourselves.  Hurrah!  Elizabeth is excited because it's the first time she's gone to WDW without her family/parents.  And I'm excited because it's "the first time in forever"  I've gone to Disney World with someone who is AS excited as I am. (Seriously, the last time was probably with Rob and that would have been in 2003 or earlier. Yowza.) The true challenge will be drinking and eating with the gluttony and gusto we would like and still being prepared to run a race. In the evening. Without vomiting.
Challenge accepted.
